“The God We Share is a coming-of-age story that follows three teenagers as they navigate their complicated relationships with spirituality and each other. This piece was created as part of [Jade’s] ongoing thesis about ideology in nonlinear narratives. Often, narrative games tend to divide their themes into black-or-white, win-or-lose dichotomies, despite the medium providing ample opportunity to explore ambiguity. This project posits ideology as variable yet neutral: though human perspectives differ, each point of view is equally honest. Rather than provide a “winnable” experience, The God We Share offers an emotional exploration, inviting the player to consider how we navigate relationships, spirituality, and ourselves.”
